Was it child abuse for the prophet to have married a 9 year old girl-child?
He was then, 54 years old. And Aisha was actually his foster niece.

Her Marriage with the prophet was a Wahy (Divine Revelation). She, herself relates from the Prophet. "He said, 'I saw you in dreams three times. The angel brought you to me and you were clad in white silk. He (the angel) said that it was your consort and he (angel) showed me by opening your face. You are just like that..." Sahih Muslim Book 008, Number 3310:
'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported: Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) married me when I was six years old, and I was admitted to his house when I was nine years old.
Sahih Bukhari Volume 7, Book 62, Number 64
Narrated 'Aisha:
that the Prophet married her when she was six years old and he consummated his marriage when she was nine years old, and then she remained with him for nine years (i.e., till his death).

lolz, cant believe that people question pre-historic events in association with current morals or so called defined laws etc.
But nevertheless, If you had a sound knowledge or Islamic or Cultural History or Jurisprudence. I would have point out some facts that would make you understand the basis of such practice.

How about give it a "chance", explore through the boundaries of honest research on Islam as a religion in general and also Cultural ways of the past.

there was no single word of criticism in the post. And you simply jumped to conclusion.
For your information, I had my own Aisha who was only 11 when her parents wanted me to marry her and I did not accept it and I did not abuse her.
I was in the task force assigned to address harmful traditional practices in Nigeria and early marriage, girl-child marriages and VVF were the problems we addressed. And for your information girls as young as 9 years old are still getting married in Islamic states in Nigeria and in Islamic nations worldwide.
If you want me to marry even 7 girls from Northern Nigeria and hand them over to you, I can do so to demonstrate that the practice is still common today as it was in the days of Prophet Muhammad(pbuh).
